Object Lessons for Church and Home Children’s Bible Lessons
Children’s ministers are looking for websites with object lessons to share with parents for home Bible studies during the Covid-19 outbreak. There are many great resources for object lessons on the internet, often free or for a small monthly subscription. Each of the websites listed below includes free object lessons for children’s ministry. Several provide the opportunity for a paid subscription, opening up a larger library of object lessons for Kidmin. But, if money is tight, stick to the free ones.
There are many options for delivering object lessons to parents, such as:
- Email the lessons to the parents.
- Put a link to a lesson on the website and social media.
- Facetime Live (or YouTube or Marco Polo or IGTV, you get the idea) a recording of the minister during the object lesson. Click here for more information.
- Print the object lesson and invite parents to do a “drive-by pick-up.” They pull their car up, you hand them the bag, and away they go.
- Likewise, some ministers take the devotional bag to the family’s doorstep. What a great time to revive those doorbell ditching antics from the teenage years.
Most importantly, parents have a lot on their minds right now. They just became homeschool parents. They may work from home. They may have job insecurities. So, make faith formation at home easy by providing all of the tools necessary for spiritual conversations.
The Complete List of Children’s Ministry Object Lessons on the Internet
- Illustrated Kids Ministry: This is one of my favorite resources, even though they are not as much object lessons, as they are prayerful coloring sheets. Children and adults are invited to mingle with God as they color away. Think about those awesome stress relieving coloring books you see at the store. These are like those coloring books but better! And, they are giving away free resources to support families during social distancing.
- Worshiping With Children: This is one of the best-kept secrets of the internet! I learned about this website word of mouth and I was awed by the resources that you may find here. And, it’s focus is WORSHIP, including intergenerational worship, which happens to be one of my research passions.
- Future Flying Saucers: If you have never seen this website, you are missing out. Future flying saucers have amazing ideals, including this long list of object lessons.
